I Want Justice!

7:55 PM Posted by Linda Henson , , , , ,
It's an outrage! What injustice! When I figured it out I wanted to stand on my soapbox and shout at the world. Every year we have one spring, one summer and one fall. Every year we have two, count them, two winters! I think it is time we rise up and demand the new year be moved to March.  That is where it belongs. That is when spring begins. It's only fair.

We're On Super Speed

5:00 PM Posted by Linda Henson
I've got to ask, where did summer go? I hadn't gotten used to the idea of summer and it was gone. I was thinking of all the things I wanted to do. Go to the park. Eat ice cream. Sit and listen to outdoor jazz. Then suddenly the leaves turned red. The weathered cooled. And there was talk of Christmas. Time is moving too fast. I've already heard talk about March. It's like sitting down to dinner and before the grace is said, the table's cleared. I feel like everything is running together. We'll soon have Janfrmarjunyaugstenodecjan. Winsprsumfallwin. Sometimes I can't hardly breathe. I'd like to say, let's slow down, but we don't have any control over this. Well this was fun. I'm already two years older. Have a good day.

Let's Be Fair

5:26 PM Posted by Linda Henson , , , , , , ,
It was July the 4th and I watched two little girls chase each other as they laughed. I thought, isn't it good to have a day off. Then I realized. This is summer. Every day is a day off for kids. It isn't fair. What we should do is have kids work the week of Independence Day. That way kids would enjoy a day off like the rest of us. Wouldn't that be nice?

Summer

10:00 AM Posted by Linda Henson , , , , , , ,
I must sadly acknowledge the passing of summer. It was with us for such a short time. We barely had time to know it. I can still hear the sweet song of the morning birds. Still see the rosy pink sunset as day came to an end. I am certain we all will shed a tear for this dear season, but there is no need to cry for long. Summer will return again in a year or two and our hearts will beat again. Am I being too dramatic?

Summer

10:00 AM Posted by Linda Henson , , , , , ,
Can you imagine? You've been cooped up in your home all winter, shivering in the cold. If you leave, you have to creep along because of the snow and ice. Finally, summer is here. You take off in your top-down convertible with the breeze in your hair, The Beach Boys 'I Get Around' on the radio, and freedom in your heart and you hit road construction.
