Yr Six

I don't know what it is like to be an abled-bodied person who becomes disabled. Or how one might feel diminished when you now require the kind of help you used to give. How can you change that feeling.
I was in a grocery store one day when a man in a wheelchair was unable to reach something on the shelf. Another man came around the corner and said, "I've got you bro." This is battlefield talk. In the military they say, "I've got your six." This says, "We're in this together. I got your back. You got mine. Sometimes you need help and sometimes I need help." No matter what your abilities are, you can still be of help. If it's reaching a can from the top shelf or picking up a pencil from the floor or giving a word of comfort. Sometimes it just takes a little to do a lot. God bless you.
